Spastic diplegia

(She and K.C. both had a familiar spastic diplegia)

From Freeport Newspaper:

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of you who made our lives and Candi's a little easier to understand and cope with these last four months when she became so ill. it is so very hard to understand why things have to happen the way they do in life, but God truly has a plan in the way he has used Candi. It's amazing how one little lady who could physically do so little could touch so many lives and do so much. her
dream will go on had her brother, K.C., and i will do what we can to follow her dream.

The number of people involved to thank is endless --you all know who you are. Whether it was a card, donation, prayer or even a thought, it does not go unrecognized. I also would like to thank my customers, Mary Kay Directors, consultants, and my unit, as without their support and help, I would not have been able to be by Candi's side to spend those last months at home with her as she wished.

Also a special thanks to Nancy Lillevold at DORS and HEALTHCO for sending Gayle Lubenow into our lives -- she was a great support right to the end. The students at Freeport High School knew her a short time, but you all gave her the sense of friendship and no matter what her disability -- she still fit in.

Tina Deery and Jan Bausman for extending that love and friendship from the school to home and Mike Noble and Jim Bergagna for allowing it to happen. you truly were all supportive. Steve Turner from Walker Mortuary for his caring and supportive nature which played a large part in helping me to make those decisions which were a part of Candi's wishes and ones I would never regret later.
I also believe Grandma Bardell deserves a standing ovation for her support, help and understanding and by reaching out to all the others at the time when emotions can be paralyzed. Also a special thank you to Pastor Keith Boyer and Chad and Terri Sigafus. The service for Candi was a tribute to her and one that will live in the lives of many for a long time to come. God bless you all.
